Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1) How much does it cost?
There is merit for a conscientious shopper to ask how much something costs. In the
instance of hiring a personal chef several factors must be considered:
How valuable is your time? A personal chef can save you a lot of time that you can
instead allocate for personal endeavors, spending time with family and friends, or
simply relaxing.
The convenience of healthy food waiting for you to just heat and eat No meal
planning/preparation or cleanup.
Limits time required for purchasing groceries/carryout. A personal chef provides
healthy fresh food based on your preferences/selection. I can even purchase extra
items for you since I'm going to the store for you anyway.
2) Actual Cost
Cost depends on which entrées you select. (i.e. expensive ingredients) The average cost is
usually between $15-20 per person per meal. This is similar to what you would pay at a
restaurant where you are at the mercy of the pre-planned menu that is offered. If you or
members of your family have specific dietary needs/preferences I can customize your
meals accordingly.
3) Other Charges
Container Fee - depending on your family size and packaging preferences, I will be
purchasing containers in which to store your food. This is typically a one-time fee.
Special Items - if you request that I pick up some extra items while I'm at the store, I will do my best to purchase them and simply pass
the cost on to you.
4) How frequently will you be cooking for me?
This depends on both your/my schedule as well as your personal food needs. I can cook
for you weekly, biweekly, monthly, or occasionally.
5) How is payment made?
Payment is either made a week before a scheduled cook date or left on the table on the
day when I am cooking for you.
6) How do I let you know my food likes/dislikes or special dietary needs?
I will schedule an assessment appointment at which time I will ask you about your
special needs and preferences.
At this time I will also show you my menu of entrées from which you may select. We can also discuss some of your own favorite recipes which you would like me to prepare.
In addition I will discuss your food storage/heating preferences, and explain how I label each
item with heating instructions.
After I cook for you, I will leave a comment sheet so we can fine tune spices, etc. to
best suit your palate.
